This project was conducted from 2010 through 2015. It is now completed.
The HOA established a Liaison Committee in February 2010 to work with the TVA to avoid any adverse impacts from the Dam Safety Project (DSP) on Tellico Village including property values, recreational activities and the scenic beauty of the area. Dennis Stanczuk was chairman of that committee. If you have questions about the Dam Safety Project send an email to the Committee at hoatvaliaison@gmail.com.
Specifically the Committee responsibilities included:
- Establish a collaborative working relationship through meetings with TVA and other agencies, as appropriate, to learn about the project and provide public input to the plans for temporary and permanent safety changes to the Fort Loudon and Tellico Dams,
- Establish the HOA – TVA Liaison Committee as a credible source of community feedback and suggestions for the TVA DSP,
- Meet with various other interested groups to exchange information,
- Provide timely reports to the TVHOA about the Project,
- Participate in the formal comment process on the behalf of the TVHOA during the preparation of any Environmental Impact Assessment or Environmental Impact Statement related to the TVA project.
Committee reports from 2014 and 2015 are attached here. Please contact the HOA Webmaster for Committee information and reports from 2009 through 2013. They are archived.
