Presidents Message – August, 2018

Here we are deep into the dog days of summer

Those of us with dogs are out there as early as can be to get that walk in, then back in the house.  However, HOA members still have plenty of opportunities to:

Be Engaged:

Stay cool with indoor activities – Dining out is offered twice a month

Sign up for evening activities – Smokies baseball will be coming to a close soon. Join the HOA for a last chance to cheer them on.  Or come out after dark to gaze at the Stars. For the hardy golfers there’s always HOA Golf.  Every Wednesday we hit the course for best ball golf then dinner.

No matter if your trying to beat the heat or enjoy it, the HOA has plenty in store this month.

Your HOA Needs You!  Still…

As I mentioned last month, your HOA team has started planning for next year.  Included in this is building our team to make it all happen.  While we’ve made great progress we still have a couple of key positions to fill, namely VP of Social, and VP of Membership. Again, all that we have is because of people working together.  We’d love to have you join us.

We are in the process of updating the descriptions for each of our roles so if you would like more information, please feel free to contact me at sue_english_kovar@yahoo.com to find out more.

Be Informed:

August Special Meeting – This meeting was held August 9th and included compelling presentations from Ft. Loudon on Stroke Awareness, Wayne Tinder from the Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department on emergency preparedness, and ACC lead Steve Trudnak on Things to know when building or renovating.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature’s rain kept many away.  Here is a link to that presentation.  Soon we’ll have a review and pictures for you here on the website.

September General Meeting – Our next General Meeting will take place at the Community Church on September 20th at 4:00 PM topics will include an update on the HWY 444 project from TDOT and news from FiveStar on the new independent living complex. Additional topics will be added.
