Where did the year go!
How often do we find ourselves thinking that at this time of year?
Indeed, 2018 has been a whirlwind that has just sped by. But thanks to the people in the picture above (your 2018 HOA Board) and the over 100 volunteers that choose to serve the HOA, it has been filled with great events, information, and your opportunity to:
BE ENGAGED – BE INFORMED – BE HEARD
Here is a sampling of the accomplishments of the HOA in 2018:
Communication/Marketing – Getting the word out…
- This year the overall focus of the board was to drive the value of HOA membership. The first part of that was the rebranding of the HOA
- Next was making sure that value was communicated as widely as possible through each of these outlets
- TellicoLife,
- HOA Website,
- Timely Email Communication,
- TVB Highlights and Happenings
- General meeting access through live stream, radio broadcast, Vimeo, and HOA Website
Membership Model Update
- After detailed analysis of the membership process and fee that has been the same for 30 years, we updated the membership model that promotes easier sign up and management.
Programs and Community Outreach
- Programs – It is the goal of the HOA to provide one General Meeting each quarter to the membership and community. This year we held 7 General Meetings and 2 Special Meetings. The focus of most of these was on Local, State and POA Elections, but we also provided important health, and community information.
- Neighborhood Watch – This year the program was redesigned to meet the current needs of the community – Web and email communications to get key information to members in a timely manner and special programs like Coffee with a Cop.
- Our Loudon and Kahite County Liaisons were very instrumental in getting candidates and election officials involved and present at our General Meetings and voters’ registration tables. As well we had the opportunity to understand everything about the Davis Ferry Substation project and LUB Meter project.
- HOA TDOT Committee – The close relationship and trust between this committee and TDOT was acknowledged to be a key success factor for the Hwy 444 repave as well as enhancements to the 321 project.
- In 2018, the HOA joined the Lenoir City Committee of 100 to demonstrate our organizations commitment to the greater Loudon County community. Corresponding to that, the HOA established the East Tennessee Bridge Project Ad Hoc Committee whose members will represent the HOA on this important initiative.
- We also looked to you, the voice of our membership, to give us your feedback in the Liquor Store survey and the Shaping Our Future survey and townhall meeting.
Socials and Events
- Socials enjoyed record attendance and offered 127 events this year!
Welcome Orientation
- Offered 6 times with attendance averaging 40 people
