Recently, the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced a “Scoping initiative to evaluate management, prevent spread of invasive carp in Cumberland, Tennessee Rivers”. The initiative “will implement a prevention pilot program to identify up to 10 projects within the study area that will manage and prevent further spread of these species.” Multiple barrier systems will be tested at multiple locations. USACE is currently accepting public input on the placement of these barriers until Oct. 26th. The HOA encourages Tellico Village residents to email your comments to USAC at corpslrnplanningpubliccom@usace.army.mil.
