November is an important month. Besides my birthday, it contains election day, Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving. Each holiday, in its own way, celebrates service and those that provide that service. So, November is a month that celebrates service, and I’ll talk about service in this newsletter.
What is service? It could be as large as dedicating your life to a cause, as many veterans and religious do, or as simple as engaging with or helping a neighbor. Most of us serve without even thinking about it. It’s natural for human beings to want to help and support each other. I thank each and every person that serves, no matter how big or how small their effort is.
Our annual business meeting was held this month, and the 2025 HOA Board of Directors was approved by the membership. I congratulate the new board and thank them for the many hours of service that they will contribute to the HOA and the community.

Please note that we still have an open position! If you want to have fun, make new friends, and learn about the community, please give us a call.
At this month’s HOA social, the 100+ volunteers that make the HOA run were recognized. I cannot thank them enough for the time, talent and energy they give to this community. Know that the HOA could not exist without these volunteers. I hope that every person’s experience was rewarding, and I hope that you had fun while you were doing it.
Our TellicoLife scheduling and communication software tool has been around for almost a decade. That’s old in software terms. We’re putting a team together to update it and perhaps transition it to an improved product in 2025. If you know about software and would like to volunteer, you’re welcome to join in the fun.
Looking into December, our Holiday Gala is a sellout. By the time you read this, all 300 tickets may be gone, so I hope that you got yours. The Gala is on Tuesday, the tenth of December, so it will take the place of the December Social. I hope to see you there, but if I don’t, please have a safe and merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Harry Rucker, Tellico Village HomeOwners Association President
