February 2025- President’s Message

If you recall, the theme of our January Social was New Beginnings, and what a fantastic beginning it was! Highlights of the evening included:
• An update on the Tanasi & TAP projects by guest speaker, POA Project Mgr., Scott MacRae. Attendees of our Social were the first to hear:
o the POA has agreed that IF a wastewater storage tank is required, it would NOT be built in the originally proposed location (off Sequoyah Road)
o Scott hopes to minimize any additional expense to relocate the tank through costs savings associated with other TAP projects that continue to move forward
• HOA Social VP, Roxanne Jackson, announced the addition of a new Suggestion Box that will enable social attendees the ability to submit ideas on how our team might enhance the benefits of HOA membership
• Activities VP, Kathy Ruzic, provided a review of several new and exciting activities scheduled to open the Wednesday following our Social
• And although technical difficulties prohibited the launch of our Belly Laugh contest, Advocacy VP, Teresa Reed and a few audience members stepped in to provide some really good comic relief

Also, during our January Social, I had the privilege of announcing the HOA Board’s decision to move forward with plans to conduct a member only online survey regarding the Reserve Funding Fee legislative bill reviewed at the POA’s January Town Hall & Board of Directors meeting. This announcement supports our HOA Board’s 2025 Goals & Objectives to:
“Establish the HOA as a valuable two-way information conduit which provides facts to the residents and in which resident-raised issues are presented to the proper governing body in constructive recommendation form to try and achieve a resolution “

While we understand not everyone likes to participate in surveys, many appreciate the opportunity to offer their opinion in a private, safe environment. This is evident by the more than 600 responses we received. Click here to see the survey results that were shared with POA staff and board members, as well as State Representative, Lowell Russell, on Monday, January 27th, 2025.

Coming up in our February Social, guest speakers, Jeff Rauch, Randy Vogel and Dori Holt, will highlight three upcoming events that our HOA Board would like to see members participate in to support a clean and environmentally conscious community, and to promote our social and civic responsibility as an organization.

Thank you for taking the time to read this edition of Your Voice in the Village newsletter which is packed with information about our team’s ongoing effort. I hope you’ll join us at the Yacht Club on February 11th, 5:00pm, for another great evening. Don’t forget to invite your friends and neighbors! See you there.

Sincerely,
Linda Garza
2025 HOA President
